Ride accross the Periyar forest of Thekkady, which is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India. Take a tour of the Periyar sanctuary on an elephant back (arranged by the Kerala forest department) or a ride through the Periyar lake on a boat, in search of wildlife and you'd be surprised with what you see.

Located 64 kms from Kottayam and 65 kms from Idukki town, Wagamon is a hill station perched at an altitude of 1100 m above sea level. A trekker's delight, Wagamon is surrounded by beautiful meadows, valleys and tea gardens, which are all spellbinding works of nature. Exotic locations in the vicinity - such as Kurisumala, Thangalpara, Muruganmala and Kulamavu are perfect base camps for tourists to explore.
